Tyres by sector

Explore tyres for twelve sectors, with application guidance, popular sizes and technical information to help you find the right fitment.

Find tyres for the vehicles and machinery your customers operate, with application guidance and popular sizes across twelve sectors.

The right tyre depends on the vehicle, its load and its working conditions as well as its size. 12.4R28 could be the front of a compact tractor or the rear of a small telehandler, and the right answer differs. 8.25-15 is a forklift size, an industrial trailer size and an export truck size depending on who is asking. A 315/80R22.5 for a tipper working out of a quarry is not the same specification as a 315/80R22.5 for a trunking fleet, even where both fit.

Explore the applications, popular UK sizes and key specification requirements in each sector — load index and speed symbol on truck, load and pressure tables on agricultural, TRA codes and star ratings on earthmover, construction type on materials handling, ETRTO codes on bicycle — to help you select and quote the right fitment.

The stockholding runs to 220,000 tyres and 15,000 wheels across 6,000 lines, and the full breakdown by category is published. If you already know the size you want, go to the catalogue. If you want to understand a specification before you commit to it, the Tyre Desk is open to everyone with no login.

On-highway

The two sectors that carry the bulk of the stockholding — 90,000 truck tyres, 20,000 bus and coach, and 85,000 car, SUV, van and trailer.

Off-highway

Agricultural, construction, earthmover and forestry — where specification is governed by load and pressure tables, TRA codes and duty cycle rather than by size alone.

Handling and infrastructure

Equipment that works in one place all day, where floor surface, duty cycle and downtime cost decide the construction before the size does.

Specialist

Specialist ranges are sourced to order against the required specification and applicable regulations. Contact the team to confirm availability and lead times.

Where the sectors overlap

Plenty of customers buy across more than one. A plant hire company needs earthmover for the loaders, construction for the site dumpers, truck for the low-loader and van for the fitters. An agricultural dealer sells tractor radials all week and then gets asked for a telehandler fitment, which sits in industrial and materials handling. A groundscare contractor buys turf tyres in the summer and ATV tyres all year.

Bring your tyre requirements together with one account, one credit line, one delivery. Order by 18:00 for next working day across mainland England, on our own fleet for nine deliveries in ten.

If a size sits in the gap between two sectors and you are not sure which page to start from, the sidewall decoder will tell you what the marking means, and the desk on +44 (0)121 520 5215 can take it from there.
